Our Names on the Sand : Romantic Poetry
Scribbling on the sands
We write our names
The waves may wash it once
But we can surely write it again
In an attempt to reach us
The waves may trouble us
Yet irksome it may find
But will never fade our names again
Even if our names dissipate
We will echo within swells
With each passing motion
Our names shall never refrain.
Let the bypasser hear it
Loud and clear
The story we once wrote
Over and over again
And when the tides grow high,
Let them try, let them sigh —
For we are the shore and the sea combined,
 Forever written, yet never confined.
Even when the sand forgets,
 The wind shall hum our rhyme;
For love, courage, and dreams like ours,
 Outlast the edges of time.
