The Drought & The Rain: Poem
The Drought
& the Rain
Stretched far off wide this barren land
Parched with thirst its cracked weary sand
The scorching heat, didn’t soften down
Neither any cloud send rain down
The earth splits its lips apart
Waiting for a drop of sky
As it remembers somewhere
There was once a river that wandered by
And somehow beneath those fractured walls
A stubborn little seed sleeps so deep
As if guarding a ray of hope
& faith in a golden shell, that it keeps
The spring that once dance
With the wind of flame
No longer comes back
To this dusty frame
So let the barren season pass by
Let the cloud remain distant & grey
As hope may not always arrive light
It may also want us to remain & stay
Yet no matter how persistent
The torrid remain
The earth will wait for
Clouds gentle mist & rain.
