Could you be my safe place: Poem
Could you be my safe place
I asked ,nestling him once,
Can I dispel my sorrow
& thunder at your presence
Can i cushion myself
When umbra falls
Can i wake up next to you
Everyday when morning bells calls
Could i make myself
Invisible under your umbrella
& see more through
Your lens like a stella
He enfolded me tightly
& told me smilingly
I never told you
My frosty winters
Became feast because of you
You never needed to be invisible
I will do it for you.
Holding unto the umbrella
I will quiet the storms for you
And as dawn tiptoed through the curtains,
The silence turned soft and true,
I realized safe places aren’t found —
Sometimes, they breathe right next to you.
